Refined salt, devoid of minerals, consists only of sodium (Na) and chlorine (Cl). This imbalance can disrupt the equilibrium in the blood, leading to side effects. In contrast, mineral-rich salt helps maintain the balance of blood and various organs.
When there is a mineral imbalance in the body, the kidneys work to expel excess minerals and reabsorb those that are deficient. Therefore, consuming bland food can force the kidneys to work harder to reabsorb the necessary minerals, potentially leading to disease. Salt intake should be balanced—neither too bland nor too salty.
